CBD E-Liquids VS Nicotine E-Liquids: Which Is Better?
When it comes to vaping, there are two types of e-liquids to choose from: CBD based, or nicotine-based. Both are derived from plants, CBD being found in hemp, and nicotine coming from tobacco. However, they are completely different substances.
What Is Nicotine?
Nicotine is a colorless or yellowish liquid that is primarily found in tobacco products. It is the ingredient found in cigarettes, one of the approximately 600, which accounts for the addictive nature of the product. When people say they are trying to quit smoking, it’s more they are trying to quit nicotine, as it can be as difficult to give up as heroin.
Here are some statistics provided by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention about how destructive nicotine is:
- Cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States. This accounts for almost one in every five deaths.
- Smoking cigarettes cause 90% of all lung cancer deaths.
- Smoking causes more deaths each year than HIV, illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle accidents, and firearm-related incidents COMBINED.

Keeping in mind all the facts listed above, it is clear nicotine is not a healthy product to consume, whether it is found in vape juices or cigarettes. We support individuals who vape lower dosages of nicotine to quit smoking cigarettes. In any other circumstance, there is nothing positive that can be taken away from smoking e-liquids containing nicotine.
What Is Cannabidiol?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound derived from the hemp plant. Most individuals get it confused with THC since they both come from cannabis. While THC is known for being a primary ingredient in weed, as it is what results in the “high” it is known for, CBD is the exact opposite.
Both hemp and marijuana are cannabis plants that have naturally occurring CBD. The difference between the two is in the levels of THC. THC is possibly the most commonly known cannabis compound due to its intoxicating properties. Hemp is bred to have low THC and high CBD content; in fact, to be legally considered hemp, the cannabis plant must have less than 0.3% THC. This is a trace amount which will not create a high. Marijuana is bred to have high THC; the levels of CBD in marijuana vary depending on the strain but are far lower than the hemp plant.
Being non-toxic, non-addictive and non-psychotropic, CBD stands apart from nicotine as the best option for vaping by far. Even when comparing e-liquids made from cannabidiol to non-nicotine vape; the natural aspect of CBD is just too hard to beat.
